What is the MarketFest Healthy Community Pavilion?
It is a booth sponsored by Shasta Regional Medical Center to provide area nonprofit agencies a place to participate in Viva Downtown’s annual outdoor MarketFest, located in Library Park, which runs Thursday nights for 11 weeks beginning June 17, 2010.

What is MarketFest?
MarketFest is an annual summertime event held by Viva Downtown Redding featuring music, food, crafts and children’s activities.  MarketFest is acclaimed as the genesis for downtown Redding’s revival.

Why would a nonprofit agency desire to exhibit at the MarketFest Healthy Community Pavilion?
The purpose of the MarketFest Healthy Pavilion is to connect nonprofit agencies with the community they serve in an atmosphere of family oriented entertainment.  The Healthy Pavilion offers area nonprofit agencies and organizations the only opportunity to promote their mission and educational objectives to the community via MarketFest.  With this booth, a nonprofit agency can disseminate information, provide referrals, and increase awareness about the health benefit it provides to the community.

How does an agency apply to use the Pavilion?
Simply fill out the application form enclosed.   Phone the Viva office at 243-7773 for additional copies.  Applications are due by Friday, June 11th, 2010 and will be reviewed and approved by a panel.  Because we are limited to 11 weeks, Viva cannot guarantee that every applying agency will have the opportunity to participate this year.

How can an agency submit a successful application?
Key points Viva and Shasta Regional  will look for in the application are: (1) a clear explanation of how the applying agency addresses community health assets and needs and (2) a creative, interactive display that engages the crowd, not just printed handouts on a table.

Why is Shasta Regional Medical Center providing this pavilion?
It fulfills the mission and philosophy of Shasta Regional Medical Center.  Briefly, their mission is to identify and creatively respond to the health needs of the region they serve.  Through the development and implementation of a strategic plan, they promote healthier communities and provide quality care to all.
