Creative i Productions, along with Viva Downtown, announce Redding Sings 2009 Competition, giving undiscovered vocal talent of Redding a chance to shine! The winner of the Redding Sings - Vocal Competition will be given the chance to perform on stage at MarketFest 2009.
Redding Sings is open those age 14 to 24 (as of December 31, 2009).
This event starts with Auditions to be held:
Saturday February 21, 2009, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and,
Sunday, February 22, 2009, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
At the south end of the Mall in Downtown Redding.
The top vocalists will be selected for the event to take place on Saturday March 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shasta County Arts Council (Old City Hall) 1313 Market Street, Redding. The event will be an exciting vocal talent competition where each contestant will perform a song 3-5 minutes in length. Voting will be conducted by the audience in attendance. The top vote-getters will be announced at the end of the evening. Those singers will arrange with Viva Downtown to sing at MarketFest.
The event is being hosted by Viva Downtown, in connection with student interns from Simpson University who joined with Viva Downtown. “It’s been great working with these young interns from Simpson University,” Viva Downtown Director John Truitt said. Co-President of Creative i Productions, Julie Heath said, “There is a lot of excitement surrounding this event."
