The small group that put on the first MarketFest in the summer of 1996 has grown into a network of volunteers, groups and businesses committed to revitalizing Redding's Downtown. We are drawn together by a shared vision of a vibrant and vital heart to our city.

Viva Downtown is an official "Main Street Organization" designated by the California Office of Historic Preservation and a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. In the past ten years, we have done many great things to improve the social, economic and cultural aspects of Downtown Redding and to serve the greater Shasta County community.

Downtown Businesses are hosting celebrations and local organizations are bringing their events BACK to the heart of our community. You can see it here: Downtowntown Events.

Redding Sings! held by our Interns from Simpson University, is great success. Our Business Interns from Chico State have helped us ramp up our web presence and contributed to the success of MarketFest 2008 and the Downtown Redding Beer and Wine Festival.

Our MainStreet Committees, fueled by terrific volunteers, have made everything happen.

But we can't revitalize Downtown alone. YOU can continue the terrific progress made in Downtown Redding by becoming a member of the Viva organization or by sponsoring our efforts -and your donation is tax deductible!
